Oregon National Guard Private, c. 1910.
The “ORE” on the collar identifies this National Guardsman’s state. In 1914 the Oregon National Guard had only one infantry regiment, the 3rd. Upon magnification I believe I can make out this man’s cap insignia with a “3” for the regiment and an “D” for the company. In 1914 Company D was in Portland. On the back of this photo is written “Uncle Jim Taylor.”
