This card is annotated as a friend, Corporal Haske, although the soldier shown does not have corporal stripes on his uniform. The 8th Infantry was in New York state from 1904 to 1906, and after overseas duty in the Philippines was at the Presidio of Monterey from 1909 to 1912.
