11th Infantry Regiment, Fort D.A. Russell, c. 1910.
Since 1904 the 11th Infantry's permanent station was Fort D. A. Russell at Cheyenne, Wyoming, except for a stint in Cuba from 1906 to 1909, and of course Mexican border duty when needed. This neatly agrees with this photo's studio mark of "W. G. Walker," who was a rather wellknown photographer active in Cheyenne since at least the 1890's.
