Although the setting is a photographer's studio, this young man stands in a military brace. The 6th Infantry's stations in the continental U.S. between overseas deployments were Fort Riley 1903-05, the midwest 1907-09 (Fort Missoula, Fort William H. Harrison, Fort Lincoln), and the Presidio of San Francisco from 1912.
