Woman in British tropical helmet and kit, c. 1920.

These are two small photographs of a woman modeling a British uniform and tropical helmet, complete with rifle and accoutrements. Perhaps this is her husband’s or boyfriend’s issue in in England just before embarkation. It was British army practice to embark units aboard ship in English ports already kitted in tropical issue, including helmets. My dating of sometime around 1920 is just a guess. It is also possible that these are photos from Canada, since the Canadian army was inclined to use tropical helmets in relatively warm weather.
