Означеннаго Александра Бардаки родной отец Генерал маиор Иван Григорьевич будучи в чине капитан лейтенанта, за усердную службу, мужественные и храбрые поступки, оказанные им в первых: в 1789 году на черном море, когда с восимнадцатью крейсирскими судами в команду его порученными, искуственными распоряжениями взял у Турок один большой трекатер и сжег пять разных судов, ВСЕМИЛОСТИВЕЙШЕ пожалован 4. Сентября того 1789 года кавалером ордена Св. Владимира 4. степени; во вторых, во время компании где он при прогнаии неприятельскаго флота из Суннии, первый преследуя оный, сжег бомбардирское судно в двенадцати пушках и двух мортирах, при сражениях, не доходя Тульчи, командуя передовым судном, взял в плен четыре канонерския лодки, при занятии Тульчи сжег два лансона и взял в плен одну канонерскую лодку, под Измайлом, потопил три неприятельския судна и прогнал неприятеля с каменнаго бастиона, при взятии же штурмом той крепости поступал вообще с отменною храбростию прогнав неприятеля с одной его батареи, ВСЕМИЛОСТИВЕЙШЕ пожалован 29 февраля 1792 года орденом Св. Великомученника и победоносца Георгия 4. степени.

The natural father of said Aleksandr Ivanovich is Major General Ivan Grigor’evich, who in the rank of captain-lieutenant, firstly, in 1789 in the Black Sea in command of eighteen cruising vessels by skillful operations captured one large Turkish transport [trekater] and burned five various other ships and was consequently awarded the order of St. Vladimir 4th class on 4 September 1798; secondly, during the pursuit of the enemy fleet from Sunnia he burned a bomb vessel of twelve guns and two mortars, while commanding the lead ship in fighting before reaching Tulcha he captured four gunboats, at the seizure of Tulcha he burned two lanson boats and captured one gunboat, at Izmail he sunk three enemy vessels and drove the enemy from a stone bastion, and during the taking of that fortress by storm he always advanced with great courage and drove the enemy from one of his batteries. For these brave and courageous acts and zealous service thus shown, he was awarded by HIGHEST Authority on 29 February 1792 the order of St. George the Great Martyr and Bearer of Victory 4th class.
